High-level conference with world leaders initiated by the Prime Minister
On 27–28 October 2020, Malmö hosted an international conference on Holocaust remembrance and the fight against antisemitism. The event brought together delegates from 50 countries – from heads of government to experts and hundreds of participants – and was organised by the Swed-ish government, hosted by Prime Minister Stefan Löfven. The starting point was clear: never to forget the Holocaust and to build resilience against antisemitism together today and in the future. The conference became a powerful meeting place where the world’s leading voices came together to exchange knowledge, experiences and renew com-mitment to this crucial issue. The graphic concept carried the same charge as the message. The key symbols were the voices – and messages to the future. The sound wave with the text “Remember – React” functioned both as the symbol of the logo and as a living graphic pattern in all communication. The sound wave provided flexibility: it could take up space or act subtly, always with the same symbolic power. The concept “The Sound of History and Voices of the Future” permeated all expressions – from digital communication to the physical environment on site. Everything from office supplies, bus decorations and lighting to press conferences and stages carried the same visual and emotional nerve. The following pages show a selection of how the ideas were transformed into products and communication channels.
