Strömkajen, Ports of Stockholm
The assignment was to develop a signage program for the Strömkajen site. The concept aimed to integrate wayfinding into the architecture itself, creating a calm and user-friendly experience. Previously, the site was perceived as cluttered and difficult to navigate due to numerous signs and standalone way-finding elements that were hard to locate. The new system is now fully incorporated into the building.

The graphic design was collaborated early on with the architectural firm Marge Arkitekter to integrate the signage during the construction phase. Three decorative elements were developed to add value and connect the city with the archipelago. A map of all boat piers in the archipelago, illuminated with LEDs and functioning as a dynamic light installation. A graphic copper decoration highlighting points of interest in Stockholm—such as museums and notable buildings. A wall featuring photographs and text that tell the story of the site’s history.
The graphic work was awarded Kolla! Silver 2014.
